INADINE dressings are specifically designed to protect wounds, even in cases of infection. They are suitable for managing ulcerative wounds and can also be used to prevent infection in minor burns and small skin injuries from trauma. The Povidone Iodine in the dressing allows for effective iodine release, while the polyethylene glycol provides a water-soluble environment that helps the iodine reach the bacteria in the wound. The frequency of dressing changes depends on the wound’s condition. If the wound produces significant exudate, daily dressing changes may be necessary. However, if the wound is relatively dry, the interval between changes can be extended. The dressing should be replaced when its color fades, indicating a loss of antiseptic effectiveness.
