The BD Vacutainer Fluoride/Oxalate tubes are specially designed for accurate glucose testing. Each tube is made from medical-grade PET and is sterile, featuring a grey cap for easy identification. Since glucose levels in unpreserved blood samples can decrease rapidly due to cellular metabolism, the sodium fluoride and potassium oxalate additives in these tubes effectively inhibit enzymatic activity along the glycolytic pathway, preserving the glucose content.
